Huge Progress
Savannah did AWESOME today. I wish I had pictures to show you how much she's adapted to WEE school. When I checked on her at 12:30 today she was still content and playing away. Miss Jenny said that she didn't get fussy even once today. Way to go Savannah!!
I've also seen HUGE progress in the healing of my finger. Thanks Bible study girls for praying hard for me this week. It's almost completely healed! I may even get my wedding rings back on by Sunday.

Too Much Stress
After two weeks of my finger oozing and really hurting to bend it, I decided it was time to go to the doctor. As soon as the nurse saw my finger she made this crazy face and almost yelled "oohh" after which she quickly apologized. She said she was sorry for reacting that way, but she had just never seen anything like my finger. Long story short, I saw three different medical people in the office and ended up with two prescriptions including an antibiotic for the infection. I can't even remember the last time I was on an antibiotic! The doctor seems to think that I'm allergic to platinum.
Please be praying for my stress level and my poor hand. It doesn't help the stress when you are in constant pain. I know that I need to just turn my anxiety over to the Lord, but this is a struggle for me right now as I can't seem to escape a child that wants to be held around the clock.
Here's the bright side . . . can't miss an opportunity to share my savings . . . I went to Target to fill my two prescriptions. One was $4 and the other was $10, but I used two different coupons from competitors (Bi-Lo and Rite Aid pharmacies) and ended up with $45 in Target gift cards. I have another coupon that I already gave them so when I refill my $4 prescription lotion again, I'll automatically get another $25 gift card. YIPPEE!! That made me feel a little better.

Outer Banks Trip!
Here are a few pictures from our trip last week. We had a great time with Dave's parents, sister, and her family. The first few days were quite windy so we didn't spend much time on the beach, but by the end of the week the weather was perfect. At first Savannah hated the feel of sand, but by Friday she walked quite a long distance on the beach. That's right, I said WALKED. She's a walking machine now. It only took a few days of being around her cousin Alyssa and she just took off. I love watching her wobble around now! :)
We had a adventurous week with a trip to Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, Bodie Lighthouse, The Wright Brothers museum, and the urgent care too. Each morning Savannah would wake up hot and clammy with a fever so by Thursday I decided to take her to the doctor. Of course he said that she was perfectly fine, but I felt better after having her checked out. She is just very hot natured and didn't adjust very well to the humid and windy conditions of the outer banks. Overall we had a great trip and lots of quality family time.
Thanks mom and dad Bachmann for everything! We loved it!!
Consignment Sale
It all started Friday two weeks ago . . . I dropped Savannah off at WEE school in the morning, worked out, and rushed home to begin packing for our first week-long vacation in over 2 years! I got most of the packing done, picked Savannah up from school, brought her home and while she was napping continued preparing to leave for vacation.
That afternoon, Miss Erica came to babysit (Savannah's first time with a non-mommy babysitter) while I went to the local biannual consignment sale. Now normally this would have been out of the question for doing the day before leaving for vacation, but this sale is HUGE in the Charlotte area. For weeks I had been having nightmares at night that I arrived and there was nothing left on the 2T rack. I have been several times for Savannah and usually buy her entire wardrobe for the next season for under $100 and they're all name brand clothes!! Anyway, in order to get the first pick, you have to volunteer at the sale. So, to add to the craziness of the day, I left at 3:45 in the afternoon to shop at the volunteer sale and then stayed through 10 that night volunteering. After I finally got home Friday night, Dave and I packed the car so that we could leave bright and early at 5am Saturday morning for the Outer Banks. Whew!

I Hate Teething
On a brighter note she's walking lots. I still haven't captured it on video, but she is getting better and better each day. She takes about 7-8 steps each time before either giving up, falling, or deciding that crawling is faster (the baboon way that is). At least she keeps us laughing! :)

In Less than a Minute
The Dreaded Season Is Here
I really can't complain too much though because it's not like Dave has year around hobbies that cost lots of money. He doesn't like to golf, hunt, go out with the guys, or play any sports . . . it's just watching and reading about football that drives him. It's free and totally safe, but thing is that I feel like it consumes our home. We're watching college games and cheering for "our" team, watching professional games and rooting on a variety of random players for fantasy football, reading real time updates on the Internet as the game progresses, checking the Clemson chat board for what everyone else says about what's happening, reading the paper for what more people think about what happened, talking about football nonstop with friends at church, and the worst part is the sadness that follows if the team of choice loses.
At times I too enjoy a game (Go APP STATE!), but every fall I have to remind myself that this is what Dave enjoys and things will just be a little different around here for awhile. So, Dave if you're reading this it's OKAY for now, but only for a season. :)

Down to One Nap :(
Here's the thing, for the past four days I've tried my hardest to wear her out before nap time in hopes that she'd keep up her two naps a day to accommodate my afternoon tutoring times. However, by 10:30 or 11:00 in the morning she's unbelievably fussy wanting her morning nap. So, of course I put her to sleep and she sleeps her normal 1 - 1.5 hours and then doesn't take a nap at all in the afternoon. This continued through the weekend . . . I just knew that after a few hours out in the heat on Saturday she would definitely take an afternoon nap when we got home. Forget about it!! I think the two naps a day are a thing of the past for us. No matter what time she takes her morning nap, she's refusing to take an afternoon nap at all. Thankfully, she has been pretty pleasant though so I really can't complain. I just have to figure out how to tutor with her awake?! YIKES!
