Soccer Tournament #1

Preston has back-to-back weekend soccer tournaments, which did not make our eldest child very happy.  SO, we did our best to make sure she wouldn't miss too many of her own fun things.  She graciously attended the games on Saturday, which weren't too far out of town in Concord.  Then on Sunday, we made sure she was able to get to church and picked her up between the games.  The boys made it to the final game and played hard in the championship, but ended up losing to a team that isn't even in our division so they were pretty proud to come in second place!

These boys played SO hard and this little guy was super proud to come home with a medal!

Boys & Badminton

For Valentine's Day Preston got a badminton set. . and it sat in the garage for months.  Finally this week he broke it out and it has been a huge hit with the boys in the neighborhood!  I looked out today and saw a front-yard full of boys all with their shoes off (they used them all to line the sides of the "court") taking turns playing the game.  I love seeing them having good old fashion fun outside!

Celebrating Easter at Home

Per the usual tradition, Dave hid the kids' Easter baskets.  Preston was first to find his before we even left for church.

It took Savannah forever to find her basket . . can you tell by the annoyed face?! ;)  We had taken pictures and were almost ready for lunch before she finally found it in the laundry room.

After lunch, the kids enjoyed an Easter egg hunt . . only the big egg with money was nowhere to be found.  oops!  (edited, it did show up several weeks later in the middle of the yard)  We had a nice dinner and enjoyed celebrating our Risen Savior from the comfort of Charlotte, NC!  And just like that Spring Break is wrapped up; time to return to school!!

Kiddo Date Night

Dave and I each enjoyed one on one time with a kiddo tonight!  He and Preston went to the King and Country concert while Savannah and I enjoyed shopping, a home movie, and TCBY.  It's always fun to have time with these treasures doing things we enjoy. :)

Spring Break 2022 . . . Vegas Baby!!

Let the adventure begin . . the kids have no idea what they are in store for, but we are all excited to get out of town for a break!!

Oh my, the sights started early!

The first day was amazing!  The weather was perfect and we hit tons of highlights

We found the secret pizza parlor in the resort and had dinner there!

A view of New York, NY where Preston and Dave rode the coaster on day two!

So excited for America's Got Talent Show!!

Preston's favorite part was meeting Dustin Tavella, the winner of America's Got Talent!  He was there celebrating his birthday with his family sitting right in front of us and was more than willing to take a picture with Preston. :)

Waiting to ride the roller coaster!

We took a bus to Old Vegas one day!  You can tell from the pictures it was COLD!!  We were all freezing and so thankful for coats . . also there was a massive sand storm with alerts going off on our phones.  We couldn't even see the mountains on day 2.

We ate WAYY too many treats, including a cereal milkshake

The in-and-out joint was a hit!

We did a lot of walking and ended day three with a cirque show that was quite disappointing for us all!

We missed the bus so we walked back to the hotel.

Our flight home was delayed several times so Preston played a slot machine in the airport and lost his change. :)

All in all, it was a super fun adventure.  I wish the weather had been warmer and the kids could have enjoyed the pools at the hotel, but at least there was daily guest entertainment from the people we met in the elevator as we rode to the 38th floor!  Definitely, a fun way to spend a few days out of town!

Her Favorite Time of the Year, Green Jeans!

Savannah literally waits all year for the Green Jeans consignment sale.  This year we had to drive quite a long way to Mooresville since they didn't have the event in Matthews, but it was a fun night out!  Still didn't find the perfect birthday party dress . . . but we're on the hunt!
