Edisto Beach 2019

We were super excited to arrive at Edisto on Wednesday for our annual family beach trip with the Bachmanns!  Dave and Preston wasted no time with starting to dig a hole.

 The sunset was amazing!

We spent lots of time resting, walking, playing, digging and just enjoying time together on the beach.  Then on Thursday, it was our annual bingo night.

These two were happy to have electronics to use while we were waiting in line for Bingo WAY ahead of the door opening time

But it was all worth it because Preston won a game!!!

Some fun family beach photos

Savannah injured her foot on one of our walks so Dave and I attempted to carry her back to the tent . . epic fail!

The littles made a slide out of the sand and couldn't wait to try it out!

And of course, there were lots of turtles to feed!  This is the year we will all remember Shelley Bachinger, the turtle that needed to be laid to rest. So many memories were made during our stay this week.  Huge thanks to Grammy and Papa for putting up with the chaos and inviting us again for a fun few days at the beach.

Salude Whole Foods Cooking Camp

All week these two mini chefs have been in cooking school!  I've been quite impressed with the variety of meals they have prepared all from scratch. Savannah was brave enough to try a lot of new things and even found some new favorites!

Today was the big meal where each person could bring one guest.  Dave got to attend for the Mexican themed meal and apparently, it was delicious!  I hope her skills pay off in our own kitchen super soon. :)

He's BACK!!! . . . more pics to come later :)

Preston arrived back to Charlotte around lunchtime today after a week away at camp!

He looked SO exhausted but said he had an awesome time and couldn't wait to go back.

We headed home and the first thing he wanted to do was take a shower.  Then he had a quick lunch and promptly passed out on the sofa.  I could hear him talking in his sleep saying "this is so comfortable." :)

I'm so glad he had a great week and made it home safely.  I'm not sure who is the happiest he's finally back.  Savannah was texting me all morning from camp wanting to know if he was home.

Pictures downloaded from the church website from his week at camp!! .  .

They built a replica of the Tabernacle this week!

Peanut Goes to Week-Long Overnight Camp

The labeling begins . .

After WEEKS and WEEKS of being so excited about going to church camp, talking about camp, planning for camp, etc today was finally the big day!

The afternoon of packing and getting to church went super quickly and before we knew it, Preston was sitting with his cabin mates ready to go!

He was a bit nervous at the last minute about getting homesick, but I have no doubt that he will have a wonderful week at camp.  Praying the Lord works in mighty ways in his little heart and that this is one unforgettable experience!

Hair Be Gone

After one super hot day at Carowinds Savannah was ready to get rid of some of her hair.  I couldn't believe it but she even was game to cut off 10" to donate!  I'm so proud of her . . . and she is super thankful to have much less hair to wash and dry every day, although it is a bit shorter than she would have liked.

Here she is with her new short do and her hair all packaged ready to send to Wigs for Kids!

Ten, Thirteen, Seven-Eleven

Ten-year-old boys loved having hours to play together at the Morrison pool this afternoon

Thirteen-year-old girls loved being able to bake in the kitchen this afternoon.

And then we were all happily reunited for free slurpees at s7-11!

And that's what we ALL call a wonderful summer day. :)

Free Bowling

We are super thankful the Marions are in town this week!  All four kids play so well together, which makes life super easy for the moms. :)  To start the week we met at the bowling alley to take advantage of "free" kids bowling.  They had a blast, but I think the $1 Preston spent on the candy claw machine may have been just as much fun as the bowling was for us all.

July 4th Adventures

We had a pretty low key 4th of July this year.  The kids were super excited to get to see Toy Story 4 as a family early in the afternoon.  Then we went home for a BBQ chicken dinner before heading out in search of some fireworks.  Our usual spot did not have them this year and we really didn't feel like driving anywhere far so we found random neighborhoods to see the local ones instead.

We then went home and enjoyed our sparklers . . and called it a day!
