Tricks and Treats

Our morning started bright and early with an 8am out of town soccer game in Concord.  We left the house before 7am and were on the field before the sun was even up!

Then we raced home for a quick lunch before we headed BACK to Concord for another soccer game.  We were thrilled that the team pulled out a win for the second game!!  We came home and started watching the Clemson game on DVR (although everyone had already checked the score!) and start getting ready for Halloween night.

These two were very ready for some trick or treating!

We had our table and treat bags all set up and ready to go!

Savannah was ready to go with her friend too!  They went solo for an hour or so and then met up with me and Preston to finish the neighborhood treat stations.

Home and ready to head in for the night!

One of the kids' favorite traditions is when they dump out all of the loot and start trading!

It was a super fun-filled Fall day, but we had to call it a day rather early since we're back to Concord for soccer bright and early again tomorrow.

Halloween Station Prep

This year our neighborhood decided to set up treat stations instead of encouraging door to door trick or treating.  "We" volunteered to have a table in front of our house and the neighbors near us all donated candy.  Today was the day the kids and I assembled 175 candy packages to hand out this weekend!  We may or may not have indulged in a LOT of preHalloween candy.  oops!

Pre Halloween Fun

This was too funny not to share before Halloween!  Preston has been talking non-stop about wanting a full-body Halloween costume and had his heart set on this stupid bear one.  After doing much research and finding the best price, I made an offer on the crazy costume on eBay.  It arrived today and this kid was THRILLED!  He immediately threw it on and messaged his buddy Ben.  I snapped this picture as he was waving to him WITH headphones on?!?  Not sure what he could hear in that thing, but if it made the little guy smile for the afternoon, then so be it!

Dr. Pepper Drive Thru

I talked the kids into running errands with me today, you know the basic Wal-Mart and Harris Teeter runs.  Preston was not very excited . . but when we arrived at Wal-Mart they had this huge set up in the parking lot and suddenly it was a fantastic afternoon. :)  We literally just drove our car through and they took this picture, texted it to me, and gave us awesome goody bags filled with Dr. Pepper merchandise.  What a great way to start the weekend!

Asheville Soccer Trip

This weekend our soccer games were in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC!  Although the trees weren't as colorful as I had hoped it was still fun to be in the mountains.  We drove up early Saturday morning and were thrilled that the boys pulled out a W for their first game.  I love how they run to the parents in a row after the game.  This was the best picture I could get.

After the game, we decided to venture to downtown Asheville for some shopping and a quick lunch.  However, we didn't plan very well for the massive number of people that would be downtown and the crazy traffic so our time was cut short.  We did grab lunch at the Woolworth soda counter and then headed back for the second game.  Unfortunately, the boys lost the second game by one point (penalty kicks are killing us!) but they still played well.  It was getting later in the day so we decided to head back to Charlotte . . but we did make Savannah happy by driving back downtown to get her an Ashville sweatshirt at the Mast General Store.

It's a blast to watch Preston play soccer, but these long travel games can certainly be exhausting!!!

Raleigh Soccer Tournament

This weekend was Preston's first multi-game tournament of the season.  We traveled to Raleigh early Saturday morning and had two games to play.  With the crazy rainy weather, there weren't many activities to do with the team, so we opted to just get a carryout pizza and eat in the hotel room.  It was an adventure sneaking into Costco and begging for the last few slices of pizza, but hey, we're making memories. LOL  We got back to the room and realized we had no drinks, but hey there is always an ice bucket with free cups for water.  Then we were like, what's for dessert?!?  So we opted to walk over to the Wegman's to see what all the talk was about.  In our opinion, it was just an over-priced grocery store, but we were able to find something everyone wanted for dessert.  Then it started pouring rain as we were leaving.  So we made a run for it back to the hotel.

We arrived home late Sunday, after a stop in Elon to collect some things from Grandma's house.  As we were finishing dinner suddenly sirens started going off on all of our phones.  Apparently, there was a tornado nearby so we decided to take cover in our basement. (Preston was so scared and panicked, see the picture!) We turned the TV on and waited for the all-clear to head back upstairs and attack the stinky soccer laundry.  With the Bachmanns, there is *always* an adventure.
