Sweet Memories

This picture says it all . . . what a special time for my mom to finally get to hold Preston. When we walked in I was feeding him and she immediately said "let me hold him". She absolutely couldn't wait to get her hands on that fourth sweet grandchild! Preston just stared up into her eyes and she couldn't take her eyes off of him. Just precious. Although it was chaotic and loud, we sure enjoyed our time with Granny today. She seems to be doing well and is still resting comfortably. Praise the Lord! I'm sure she slept for hours after we all left today.

Family Time

Today we ventured to Burlington to visit my mom in her new home, the Hospice House. I have to say it has really been hard for me to accept the fact that she cannot go home and probably will never see her house again, however, I know that this is the best place for her. The facility is so nice and the staff seems wonderful there ~ plus they know how to manage her pain and nausea and can keep her as comfortable as possible.

We enjoyed having everyone together, but I'm sure mom was completely exhausted when we left! I bet it's been a long time since the staff at Hospice has heard the cries of a baby and chatter of 3 busy toddlers all in one room. Please keep mom in your prayers as I know this is a hard transition for her.

Aunt Cherry also stopped by for a visit with mom. Here she is with Savannah.

Before we went to see mom we stopped by my grandma's house to celebrate Aunt Carol's birthday and to visit with everyone there. Denny and Kristin hadn't met Preston so it was fun showing off our little one. Here are a few pictures from grandmas.

Dad with Preston. I think Preston loves his Pawpaw already!

I had to include this picture. What in the world is everyone doing? Maddie and Savannah, it's just a picture with Pawpaw!

Here is the proud Great Grandma with all of her great grandchildren!

Although it was a very, very long day for us, it was good to spend time with our family. Through this whole ordeal with mom, God has really been teaching me to be thankful for such a wonderful family. We truly are blessed!
