Halloween on the Homefront

Dave and Savannah left yesterday to do the Georgia college tour loop so Preston and I have had a fun couple of days. :)  We had takeout for dinner on Sunday and he picked a dessert of Savannah's homemade cookies with icing all warmed ~ with ice cream and chocolate syrup on top.  We settled in to watch the Mighty Ducks and called it a day.

We were both up bright and early to hit the gym this morning though.

He did some gaming and played football with the neighbors while I worked a little this morning and then we went to Sports Connection after lunch.

We made an afternoon attempt to get Savannah's car inspected and hit Krispy Kreme for his free donut before heading home for the neighborhood pizza party and trick-or-treating.

These crazy boys crack me up!  So now he's out getting tricks or treats and I'm home catching up . . waiting for the scoop on Georgia Tech and UGA when the rest of the family arrives home. :)

This kid was super happy to collect over 12 pounds of candy!

Sunday Soccer in Boone!

Today after church, we quickly hit the road to travel to Boone for Preston's soccer game.  It was a super long way to go for one game, but it was super cool to see him play on the actual ASU field!

The team played super hard and brought home the W, winning 3-1!

Of course, at Savannah's request, we hit Macado's for dinner takeout before heading back down the mountain.  We didn't need to spend much time walking around since we'll be back in just a couple weeks for an official college tour.  Nevertheless, what a cool afternoon spent in the beautiful mountains of NC . . made me miss Boone so much!

HOCO 2022

Savannah was SO excited to attend the PHS homecoming dance this year.  The event was so popular that they actually ran out of tickets and lots of kids didn't get to attend, so we were thankful to have purchased her ticket early. :)

She met up with some friends for dinner before the dance and then I drove everyone over since technically they aren't supposed to drive large groups.

Apparently, there was more jumping than actual dancing, but they all had a swell time. :)

Fit to be *Tied*

This week has been pure chaos at our house . . . both kids have had multiple before and after school and nighttime activities, like EVERY SINGLE day.  It has been next to impossible to keep up with who is where and what time everyone needs to eat dinner.  Sooo, when Savannah left to work at Cotillion today it never occurred to me that we needed her help to tie Preston's tie before she left.  Clearly, Dave knows how to tie a tie, but he can't do it on someone else.  I'm clueless when it comes to ties, so that left us in quite a pickle trying to get Preston ready for his class tonight.  It reminded me of two things, first I need to learn to tie a tie.  Secondly, I'm just not sure what we are going to do when Savannah goes to college!  I depend on her for SO many things from tech support to fashion advisor to getting her dodo brother ready.  I better start learning now, ha!
