Memorial Day

After all of the soccer tryout drama and end-of-year madness, we were all due for some pool time!  We arrived at the pool and found out that it was at capacity so we had to wait 25 minutes to get in, but it was nice to chill and relax a bit once we finally made it inside!  The kids loved racing on the water slides and I enjoyed watching.  We went home and had yummy BBQ, homemade mac and cheese, corn, and rolls for dinner!!

Preston's Last Band Concert

Today was Preston's last band concert. ;(  Actually, it's only his second one, but he decided not to play in the band again next year so he could take more electives . . and honestly I think mostly because he can't bike to school carrying a big trumpet.  It was a good but VERY SHORT concert.  It is a bit sad knowing he will not continue playing, but I'm pretty sure since he didn't practice at home any this year that it is not a passion of his.

After the concert, he ripped off his dress pants and has his soccer uniform on ready to race to soccer tryouts . . never a dull moment!

1st Charlotte FC Game

One of Preston's gifts from the boys' retreat was a night at a Charlotte FC game.  They had wonderful seats, which included concessions too. :) He and Dave had a fabulous time (once they found parking) and Savannah and I enjoyed our time at home!

Mother's Day

Today was a fun, low-key day!  Savannah made my favorite dessert, fruit pizza, with the assistance of Preston and Dave had flowers.  My one request was a family walk on the greenway, which was quite chilly but fun to do together.  We picked up Dominos on the way home and enjoyed our day together!

Another Weekend of Soccer

This weekend we had another out of town soccer tournament . . . and this was no small event.  We had to travel to Greenville, NC but thankfully the first game on Saturday wasn't until noon so we were able to drive up that morning.  This made Savannah super happy as she was still able to attend the 10th grade Sunday school cookout Friday night!

The boys played super hard but didn't come out as well as last weekend.  Nevertheless, it was still a fun weekend and they enjoyed the team dinner on Saturday!

We made the long drive back to Charlotte on Sunday afternoon through some storms and are ready to head into the end of the school year with soccer officially wrapped up!
