I have to say that Preston amazes me every day, sometimes for the good and sometimes not. Today after I got him up from his nap Savannah was still sleeping so I decided to fold some laundry. I just let him wander while I was working . . . and next thing I know he ventured into the bathroom and got a wipe, a very normal activity for him. However, the next part amazed me. I looked over and he was literally cleaning my window seals!! Never once did I mention that they were dirty, but I guess that after looking out and feeling the breeze all morning (it's a beautiful day here) he decided that 1) they needed cleaning and 2) he'd take it upon himself to clean them! HA! He then held up the nasty wipe and said "shew, shew".

Happy Valentine's Day
After waiting all day to open presents, we finally let the kids rip into their Valentine's presents after dinner. They each got a new book along with a water bottle for Savannah (that she will be sporting at school tomorrow) and a big bouncy ball for Preston. Preston was quite thrilled with his ball!
Happy, Happy Valentine's Day to our family and friends!!

Super Saturday
Yesterday was an AWESOME day!! To start the day, everyone slept (okay, stayed in their room) until at least 8am! Savannah was up a bit earlier, but when I told her that everyone else was still asleep she agreed to stay in her room and play until we "woke up". It was fabulous and much needed too!
Then we ran some errands and even took a run together as a family. The weather was perfect for breaking out the jogging stroller so we all went for a quick run to test out the new sidewalks on the main road.
After we got home and had a quick lunch, it was off to see "If you take a mouse to school", an Imaginon play. Savannah went along with 2 of her best friends, Anna Kate and Jack. It was a riot all piling in Miss Elizabeth's van (3 kids and 3 mamas) to head uptown. Although I was a bit disappointed with the play, the kids loved it!

Double Dentist Visit
Savannah being a model patient for Dr. Bird! Way to go Gracie Bell!!
Picking out their prizes!
Today I took both kids for their bi-annual dentist cleanings. For Preston, it was his first ever visit! He was so excited about the bright yellow chair, but when it came to sitting in it alone, he wasn't having that at all. He did the normal screaming, but at only 19 months old I sort of expected that. I guess that's the benefit (or downfall) of having an older sibling . . .you get to do things a lot earlier than normal.
Savannah was 3 before I took her to have her teeth cleaned for the first time. Oh, and let me tell you, it was a disaster!!! This time however was much different! For Savannah, it was her first ever visit where she sat perfectly still and cooperated with every part of the cleaning. She even had x-rays!!!! I'm so proud of her. ;)

Mr. Independent
This past weekend we travelled to Greenville, SC to celebrate Dave's sister's and dad's birthday. Although the trip was pretty uneventful, Preston chose to throw quite a few tantrums in the restaurant. Thank goodness we were the only people there for a long time! We are just going through a stage with him right now (maybe it's due to the 4 teeth that are coming in or maybe it's because he is a BOY) where he is very opinionated. If he doesn't want to wear his coat, he throws it in the floor and proceeds to throw himself in the floor. He has also become super independent. For example he wants NO help walking up or down the stairs (and can do it solo) and also insists on feeding himself everything with a spoon (just imagine the MESS). He also insists on eating things whole. If I give him a nutri grain bar broken up, it immediately gets thrown in the floor, but if I give it to him whole, he eats the entire thing within a minute! Honestly, it's about to get the best of me, but I'm trying to just take one day at a time. I do a lot of praying between 5 and 6:15, when Dave finally arrives home.
Although we had to deal with a super fussy toddler, we did manage to have a good weekend. Saturday the kids loved getting special valentines presents from Grammy and Papa. Sunday was a great day to be able to have everyone in church and then to do a few things here at home too. We decided to go out to dinner and it was a great idea since there was no one out ~ everyone was at home watching the big game.
