Family Time

Today we ventured to Burlington to visit my mom in her new home, the Hospice House. I have to say it has really been hard for me to accept the fact that she cannot go home and probably will never see her house again, however, I know that this is the best place for her. The facility is so nice and the staff seems wonderful there ~ plus they know how to manage her pain and nausea and can keep her as comfortable as possible.

We enjoyed having everyone together, but I'm sure mom was completely exhausted when we left! I bet it's been a long time since the staff at Hospice has heard the cries of a baby and chatter of 3 busy toddlers all in one room. Please keep mom in your prayers as I know this is a hard transition for her.

Aunt Cherry also stopped by for a visit with mom. Here she is with Savannah.

Before we went to see mom we stopped by my grandma's house to celebrate Aunt Carol's birthday and to visit with everyone there. Denny and Kristin hadn't met Preston so it was fun showing off our little one. Here are a few pictures from grandmas.

Dad with Preston. I think Preston loves his Pawpaw already!

I had to include this picture. What in the world is everyone doing? Maddie and Savannah, it's just a picture with Pawpaw!

Here is the proud Great Grandma with all of her great grandchildren!

Although it was a very, very long day for us, it was good to spend time with our family. Through this whole ordeal with mom, God has really been teaching me to be thankful for such a wonderful family. We truly are blessed!

C - I am so sorry to hear about your mom. What a blessing that she has time to love on and know Preston. He is precious! Congrats!

In response to your ? about the car seat...Alden's seat is the Frontier. I think she likes it ok, although after 8 hours in it on the way to Ohio, she said her back hurt. But, mine did too, come to think of it.

I loved seeing your pictures today with your mom. I'm sure it was a difficult day in many ways, but I know your mom was so uplifted to see her daughter and grandbabies! It brought tears to my eyes seeing it:-)
