23 Times

That's the number of doctor visits Savannah has had since she was born . . . know how many times they've prescribed a medication for her?? TWO.

We just got back from yet another doctor visit this morning only to find out that she's perfectly fine. She woke up unusually fussy so I thought it was time we saw the doctor today. Our regular doctor was off, but Dr. Moran was great! Her diagnosis is that Savannah is testing me to my limits trying to see what she can get away with. Although the child has lost a few ounces since our last visit, the doctor didn't seem worried. She said definitely not to switch back to the bottles and to keep offering the table food, not the baby food. Oh boy, here we go. Another battle.

So, I'm in need of prayer . . . please pray that I have the strength to deal with being tested all day long. Please pray that I'm patient, loving, gentle, and a model for Savannah to follow. This is only possible through His strength (and a few ear plugs as the doctor suggested).

hang in there -this will pass and new challenges will be on the horizon! great news huh :)
maybe savannah is ready to try some different foods-after discussing this with other mom's at work here's our suggestions. kids like to dip things-raw veggies cut into small strips and dipped into yogurt, sour cream, cream cheese. same for soft fruits. cheese cubes, flavored rice cakes with a thin smear of peanut butter. apple butter on 1/4 slice of bread. (peanut butter is a good source of protein and fat) i didn't know toddlers needed so much fat intake-oh to be a toddler again! about that milk try adding a splash of different flavorings-vanilla,almond etc. also a splash of chocolate milk for a treat-not to much though. how about the vegatable juices like v8 splash diluted maybe for her. one friend suggested putting several things in a small muffin tin or divided plate and see what she likes the best. also try a picnic outside for a treat-someone said a change of routine helps. it helps me too!
try her with her own spoon/fork she's old enough to start trying to feed herself. (newspapers help with the mess on the floor)
it's a challenge to come up with new things to try when babies or teens, for that matter, get bored but i have all confidence you and dave will rise to the challenge! :)
you both are great parents and are doing a good job with savannah. we'll keep praying for easier days ahead.
love ya'll see ya soon deb & dad

Chrystal, the spoon and fork thing is a good idea. I let Caroline try a spoon with her yogurt when she was going thru the picky stage. I hate messes, and she definitely made one, but she loved it and ate most of it! The peanut butter (thin layer) on bread is a good one, too.
