Just Another Monday . . . At Home
Today the kids had a day off school and I tried to find some things to keep them busy . . at home. This quarantine thing is really getting sickening, but we are trying to make the best of it. Savannah kept occupied with some cooking and Preston opted to work on a couple of wood kits from Home Depot. I'm trying to ignore the mess and to be thankful that they found something to do. :)

Fall Weekend Adventures
These boys are always up to something crazy in the backyard. Today they used a rope to get the tree swing as high as they could. Dangerous, but fun!
And then there are Saturdays, my favorite! Dave and Savannah are in charge of dinner once a week (usually Saturdays) and I don't even have to think about cooking. It's an amazing feeling!
Sunday we decided to do a traditional Fall activity nearby. We opted to do a big corn maze. What a disaster. The first half-hour we kept going around in circles trying to find the second post and were all SO frustrated. I had the worst attitude and decided we would never do this again. LOL
Thankfully we made it out in just under an hour! Next year maybe we'll opt for just the hay ride!

Soccer Sunday
Well, we are officially back in full swing with soccer. Practice started last month and today we had a game. . . on Sunday. Although it's not my favorite time to have games, I'm so thankful that we can always go back to watch our church service online. The boys have a new coach and he is AMAZING. Not only do the kids love him, but he has already impressed the parents. Coach Matt demands and expects respect and dedication to the sport. They have already learned so much and are actually looking like a good little team. Here's to a fun, hopefully winning, season.

My Sweet Grandma, A Life Well Lived
Today my precious grandmother arrived at Heaven's gate. My heart just aches as I think about how much I'll miss her, but what a joy it is to know that she is reunited with Pawpaw!
She was truly a woman of God who taught me so much . . . not just through words, but by watching her in action. She loved on everyone so well. I think back to some of my earliest memories of spending the weekend at her house when she was caring for her mom across the street. We spent a lot of time checking in on her and baking for others too. She kept a spotless house (I think my OCD about this came from her) and was a fantastic southern cook. There were always treats to be found and funny stories to be told. I have so many memories that I will forever hold close in my heart. My hope is that one day I can be as selfless and generous as she was.
Savannah was trying to keep up with her classes as we traveled to Elon for her service.
Baker Beauty
This afternoon Savannah decided she wanted to bake a bundt cake. So, after a quick Target run for a few needed ingredients, she was set to bake. I went out to Shipt and came home to a wonderful aroma and a beautiful cake. I was quite impressed with the final product . . . it really just melted in my mouth. Nothing Bundt Cakes, you better watch out! She said that the icing was a hot mess, but I said it really doesn't matter what it looks like when it is so amazingly delicious!
Gotta love the photo bomber in the back. :)
