Preston's Mountain Adventure

These pictures came from the mountains . . . I think it's fair to say the boys had a swell time!

They went tubing one day and had a funny story about a tube popping.

 And if they hadn't had enough fun, when they got back to Charlotte, Kristin took them to the YMCA pool for a couple of hours.  This kid was worn out when he got home tonight!

Pre Camp Celebration & Send Off

Since Savannah will be at camp on her actual birthday this week, we did "leftover cake" and a few gifts before she left. 

And then she was off to camp on Monday!

And Preston was lucky enough to be invited to his buddy Ben's mountain house for the week too!

 So it's Monday and both kids are headed out of town for the week! :)

Savannah's Sweet Sixteen Party!!

After much planning and anticipation, Savannah's 16th party day is finally here!  She invited 8 girls to join us in a limo ride uptown for dinner and pictures.

Dinner was quite a hit (or miss with catching food thrown in her mouth).

And why not celebrate with a flaming torch on cheesecake AND Nothing Bundt cake!

After dinner we headed to a fun part of the city for some pictures together.

It was a night full of laughter, blasting music in the limo, good food, and memories to last.  I hope the girls had as much fun as I did!

Mini Golf Adventure

It was an unusually cool day so I took the kids to play mini-golf.  Leatherman's let us use an insane amount of coupons so we only paid $6 total for all of us to play!  We were the only ones on the course too . . which was helpful since Preston had a few mishaps with his ball going into the bush and woods.  

 

Preston's Last Day of 6th Grade

Savannah and I took advantage of the *little* guy still being in school and went for pedicures. :)  

Today was Preston's last day of school and per tradition, the Jensen's had their annual end of year sno cone party.  It's hard to believe these boys are headed into 7th grade.  Summer has officially begun!

 

Welcome to Summer, Savannah!

 Although Preston is still in school for a few more days, this girl has officially finished half of high school!  I picked her up after her exam this morning and she was quite the happy camper.  Where did the time go?!?  Now let the craziness of June begin . . . 

Preston's NJHS Induction

I am SO proud of this kid!  I'm not going to lie, it was a battle getting him to apply and write the essay for NJHS, but he did a great job.  There were several components including service, scholarship (verified grades), essay, and extracurricular stuff but he did it!  Not only did he get in, but they asked him to do one of the speaking parts for the ceremony (the only 6th grader asked to help).  It was quite the honor!  We were both a little nervous about the scripted speech because it has the long-dreaded "world" word in it, but he said it perfectly!  All those years of speech therapy paid off. :)  So tonight I was one proud mama of my little peanut.

Just as a side note so I can always remember . . . he threw a FIT about having a speaking part.  I was on the phone when he came home from school with the news and he was literally screaming about how he didn't want to do it.  Savannah was like "well why didn't you just say no thanks?" which made him even madder "WHAT?  I didn't know that was an option?"  LOL  It all worked out in the end, but for two days all he did was complain that he had to be part of the ceremony!
