The Ups and Downs of a Packed Saturday

The day started off pretty normal, but quickly became crazy!  Preston was at a sleepover and texted me early this morning to say he had hurt his ankle playing wiffle ball Friday night.  I didn't really think much about it until he said he couldn't walk at all.  UGH!  I had already been out to grab an extra gift card at Harris Teeter and got home just in time to see Savannah off for her morning adventure around Charlotte to attend 3 graduation parties and a concert.  Dave was at the gym and planning to pick Preston up from the sleepover on his way home.

I headed back out to work but tried to multitask while calling the ortho urgent care and pediatric nurse to see what to do about Preston.  The verdict was that since he couldn't bear weight at all, he needed to be seen. While I was working the salesman from the car dealership called and said they were going to trade the car we were interested in unless we were coming to get it today.  AGH!  I promised him we would be back around 3:00 so Dave could check it out and then tried to finish my orders.

I guess it all worked out . . . Preston has a bad sprain and is in a walking boot with crutches until he can comfortably bear weight.  We have a new car (well we will once the bank opens and we can get the title to the current car) and we even managed to make it to the outlets to get some new things for the boys from Under Armour to wear for graduation.  Whew!  Thankfully Dave is in charge for Saturday night dinners and he threw some chicken burgers on the grill.

You just never know what a day will hold around here . . .
