Last year when Preston was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society the advisor asked him to do one of the speaking parts in the ceremony because . . . well, he's Preston! :) This year he was excited to be voted in by his peers to serve in the role of vice president for next year (which may or may not be because he promised to have snacks at the meetings LOL) so he had a speaking part as one of his official duties. He did a great job and despite having to wear "church clothes" he was excited to participate.

Celebrating Kevin's 50th!!
Dave and I were so honored to be invited to celebrate Kevin Neal's 50th birthday with this super special group of friends. It was a blast from the past to have dinner with all of these "singles" that we have known from Carmel since before we were even dating. We had a perfect evening celebrating a one-of-a-kind man. Despite his challenges, Kevin is always smiling and has such a gentle, loving spirit. We are thankful to call him a friend!

Cheerwine Festival
Dave saw in the paper that they were holding a Cheerwine Festival in Salisbury and was excited to check it out this weekend. Somehow he talked the kids into going and apparently, they weren't the only ones! Everyone agreed it was packed out and the lines were super long to get to each tent, but they still had a fun Saturday afternoon. I mean it has to be fun if you get funnel cake and cheerwine, right?

That's a Wrap on Track
Preston loved running track at school this year . . . so much so he may not even try out for soccer next year! Either way, it was a great season with lots of growth and speediness. :)

Best of Friends through Thick and Thin
I love that these teenage boys aren't too big for a lemonade stand! And what's even better is the friendship they share . . . all neighborhood kids that walk/bike/run to and from school together. There are certainly rough days, but man they have the best of times. :)
And these girls are a sweet, sweet group too! They have been friends since they were in the womb (via their mamas) and have continued to share the most special friendship over the years, even through a Singapore stint for one! Representing three different school systems and a variety of interests they still have the common bond of sisters in Christ, attending church together weekly. What a blessing it was to have them over for pizza, games, and a movie night. There was so much laughter and joy!!!
