Saturday Fall Festivities

Our Saturday fun started with the PSE carnival this morning.  Thankfully we went early and the lines weren't too long.  After enjoying that for a bit we went home for lunch and then ventured out again to Hall Family Farm.  Dave has been wanting to do the corn maze and this was really the first weekend day that worked for us.  

We set a personal record in the maze finishing it all in just under an hour . . with only a few clues from the "all knowing maze wizard". It was much more fun this year with a clue theme instead of trivia that we had no idea about.

We opted to skip our annual funnel cake since we had all overindulged on Halloween candy.  We made it home in time for the Clemson football game too.  What a fun way to spend Saturday together as a family.

Halloween Delayed

Due to crazy storms and rain our neighborhood decided to delay our block party and trick or treating until today.  Savannah was quite disappointed that her group of friends couldn't join her on Friday as they had coordinated costumes, but we still had fun in our neighborhood! Preston was a hotdog and Savannah was Pooh bear. We enjoyed lots of pizza and then ventured out for tons of candy.

Anna Kate was able to join us, which made Savannah happy . . . and Ben came after flag football too.  So although it was delayed and Dave couldn't go with us because of month end, we made the best of it!

Boys Clemson Soccer Adventure

Dave checked Preston out of school early today and they headed down to Clemson for a men's soccer game. It just happened to be homecoming so they were able to enjoy the amazing floats before the soccer game started.

It was a super long day and a VERY late night as the boys arrived home after midnight, but they both had a great time.  Savannah and I enjoyed Chick fil A and a movie night at home. . . after some shopping of course :)

Sunday with Sonic at the Speedway

Today was a super fun day spent at the Charlotte Motor Speedway with Dave's company.  The event kicked off around 1pm with a delicious lunch and then the kids had a blast playing the games they had set up.  

There was also a friendly competition between the stores for who could earn the most points.  Preston helped Ford pull in second place overall with his first-place win in the race below.

Unfortunately, we had to leave to get Savannah to basketball before the field events started, but we still had a blast!

Friday Night Football

Friday night was the first time in 20+ years that I was at a high school football game.  It was eighth grade band night so the middle school kids were invited to play with the high school band at the game.  It was an interesting feeling and certainly brought back a lot of wonderful memories.  Savannah had a blast so we'll wait and see what she decides to do next year, but I have  a feeling band camp is not enticing to her. :)

While she played we met up with the Stallings family (their son is the quarterback) and the little guys had fun together.  It was a fun, but LONG, night for our family.

We did a Chuck E Cheese mystery shop after soccer on Saturday  . . . this picture just cracks me up. This kid is always so full of energy!  It's been a fun, full weekend.

Happy Birthday Daddy-O!

We were excited to celebrate Dave's birthday today!  We started the morning at church and then "enjoyed" some Panther football.  He hit the gym and then we had Red Robin for dinner followed by a Ben & Jerry's ice-cream cake.  YUMMY!!

We are so thankful for a man who loves and leads our family well.  Dave is SO patient, hard-working, kind, and truly pitches in to help with everything around the house.  Here's to a year ahead filled with sweet memories and lots of laughter.  We love you bunches!!!!

Labor Day Weekend Adventures

We have enjoyed a fun long Labor Day weekend hanging out in Charlotte!

Saturday we enjoyed going out for ice-cream treats after our burgers on the grill for dinner

Sunday afternoon we went to a festival in downtown Matthews.  The weather was much cooler than last year and we were in no rush so Preston was able to sit and make a wheelbarrow at the Home Depot booth.  He and Dave worked hard while Savannah and I enjoyed sitting and watching in the shade.

We were super excited to find the Top Golf booth at Matthews Alive where we received a $10 off coupon and a free membership for one person. The kids had been talking about going all summer and we tried once, but there was a 2+ hour wait so we opted for something different.  However, we had already promised them to go today and so what a bonus to get some coupons to use!

After a long grueling gym class that Savannah and I did outside at the Y we rushed home to take quick showers and then headed to Top Golf.  Thankfully there was only a few minutes to wait before we were able to get a bay.  We had such a fun time!!!  Even though we quickly discovered we were not the best golfers it was so nice to sit and enjoy watching each other do our best.

So now we are gearing up for another week of school, thankfully a short one, and month end for Dave.  Plus we are waiting to see what Hurricane Dorian does as well. Happy Labor Day!!
