Ballantyne Gingerbread Display

Today we made our annual visit to the Ballantyne Resort Gingerbread display.  We met the Marions there and as usual had a grand time!  There were lots of great houses and creations, but my favorite part was just seeing the kids enjoying time together. :)

Savannah's Holiday Party

Today we had a blast Southern Hemisphere style!  I helped with the class party in Savannah's class today and it was a huge hit with the kids.  They rotated through stations playing minute to win it games and also had a huge ice cream sundae bar.  Everyone got a beach ball and sunglasses to bring home and now are officially ready for the winter break.  One more day to go . . .

I wasn't the party mom for Preston's class, but they too had a grand time with lots of fun activities.

A Bachmann Family Christmas

Christmas with Dave's family was celebrated in Simpsonville, SC this year.  We left right after church to head to Susan's house and after heating up all of the food we had a wonderful meal.  Of course we enjoyed opening gifts throughout the afternoon and then ended the evening with dessert before packing up to head home.

Thankfully we have a big car that was able to bring home the super exciting foosball table . . . this little guy (and his papa) were pretty excited about that gift!

And as soon as we were home and ready for bed the kids couldn't wait to get out the claw machine from Grammy and Papa.  We scrounged up some hard candy to throw in and it has created a LOT of excitement already.

Y Guides Winter Fun

After Preston's basketball game, we headed home for a quick break before going out for some afternoon activities.  Savannah and I had errands to run, which the boys clearly did not want any part of, and Preston had a Y Guides gathering scheduled.  So we divided up and set out for our adventures. Traffic and lines were a NIGHTMARE around town so our 3 errands (and trip to Harris Teeter) took much longer than I imagined, but we still enjoyed our time together.  It was fun to be out in the Christmas craziness knowing my shopping and wrapping were already done!

The boys had a swell time playing gaga ball at Carmel and then going to the Ezells for hot chocolate.  I love their sweet little tribe and am thankful for these boys and dads that spend this time making memories together.

Savannah's Boot

Well now three of the four of us have officially become patient's at OrthoCarolina.  Not bragging friends, just stating the truth!  Last Saturday Savannah complained about rolling her foot during the basketball game, but because she was easily able to walk I really didn't think anything about it.  But with the passing of 5 days and her still not having any less pain and seeing that it was still swollen a bit, I figured it was time to pay a visit to the specialist.  After a few x-rays they determined that it is most likely she cracked the growth plate in her foot.  So now she gets to sport this "festive" boot for Christmas break.  We are hopeful that after 2 weeks of wearing it she'll be much better and we'll be released from the doctor.

Drive Through Christmas Tradition

I love family traditions . . . especially at Christmastime!  Ever since I've known Dave, we have always taken time to drive through Carmel Presbyterian's drive through Christmas the second week in December.  This year was no exception as we showed up tonight for their annual event.  It's been neat to share this fun activity with the kids.  Now that they are older I even allow time to stop and go in for treats and hot chocolate!

Yount Family Christmas

It was a Christmas miracle that the entire Yount family (my mom's side) was able to get together this year for Christmas!  We have tried for two years to be able to meet for a meal sometime around Christmas, and every year someone has been sick or we have just been too busy.  Thankfully, we planned early this year and all were healthy and able to meet in Greensboro for lunch today!!  Aunt Cherry treated us all to a super fancy lunch, including dessert at the Green Valley Grill.  There is nothing better than having everyone together for Christmas.  We are SO thankful for our precious family and the time we were able to spend together!
