So now the options have to be carefully considered, but we are still waiting on some key pieces of info so stay tuned. :)

With the end of quarter at school the kids had a random day off today. We had thought about going snow tubing as a family, but the weather was super crappy (warm and rainy) so as a backup option I found a Groupon for 6 people at Great Wolf Lodge. I volunteered Dave to take Preston and four of his friends to enjoy some fun in the waterpark and he was on board. SOOOO, they left Wednesday right after school and stayed through this afternoon. The boys all had a blast! I might add that my husband is a SAINT for being willing to do this . . . after just 10 minutes of those teenage boys in my house after school it stunk terribly so I can't imagine a hotel room with them!
While they were away Savannah and I enjoyed some pre-prom dress shopping, consignment store shopping, errands, CFA, and of course just some quiet time at home. We had planned to see a movie too, but just ran out of time! I love that Dave is willing to do these fun things with Preston and I certainly cherish any time Savannah and I get to spend doing girl things!
The high school came out with some ridiculous exam policy where you could finally be exempt from mid-term exams if you have a certain grade and only a few absences . . but exempting from an exam actually counts as an absence! Being that Savannah has worked SO hard to keep perfect attendance (only missing one day in middle school) she refuses to get an absence for exempting an exam. SOOOO, we decided to take advantage of the policy to take a college tour and still be counted as present. ;) She had been wanting to see the campus of UNC Charlotte so we made an appointment and headed North this morning.
It was freezing cold, both inside the presentation and on the hour-plus walking tour but we made the most of the morning; although I was super disappointed not to get a picture of her on campus. :( As we were leaving the guided tour (walking ALL the way back across campus) her first comment was "Well, I can safely say I'm glad I didn't apply here". Maybe it was the freezing cold, the non-engaging tour guide, or just the feel of the campus, but either way, we both know she wants to be a little further away from home.
We traveled to Clemson today for a home basketball game. Dave received tickets for Christmas so we were all excited to be back on campus for a game . . and it was a bit different for Savannah since she has been accepted as a student there for next year. :) The Tigers pulled out a great win to break their losing streak too. Of course, we had to stop at a local favorite, Sully's Steamers, to grab dinner before hitting the road to head back to Charlotte. It was a super fun day!
