Camp, Cramp, & Costco

Preston was SO excited to head to Carmel Student Camp today!  Unfortunately, I woke up not feeling the greatest, but I managed to squeeze in a mini workout and then took it easy for the day.  As the day went on the cramp in my tummy got worse . . . but I was trying to make it to my physical appointment on Wednesday.  Long story short, life became pretty painful and after a CT scan, I was diagnosed with diverticulitis. Ugh!  So our anniversary was just clear liquids for me as I recovered and hit a pretty high dose of antibiotics.

Dave and Savannah were able to enjoy our anniversary dinner at the club, the Costco club that is. LOL  They had both been wanting to eat there, so this was the prime chance since I was unable to eat real food.  I guess that's the way life goes. Happy Anniversary Dave, we're just rolling with the punches lately!

Celebrating BIG!! Preston & Dave

This kid has worked SO hard to prepare for this flight exam!  He took the written private pilot's license ground school exam today and almost aced it, missing only a couple of questions (which will make his oral exam much easier). So now he can head off to camp tomorrow a bit lighter without the worry of the exam  . . . flying here he comes!!!

With all the celebrations lately, we decided to celebrate Father's Day again today with Dave's special treat.

Happy Happy 19th Savannah & Happy Father's Day

This is one of those fun years where Savannah gets to share her birthday with Father's Day.  We started the day with balloons and church, and wrapped it up with Cheesecake Factory cheesecake and gifts for all!

Meet Wish-Waffles, Savannah's new pet unicorn from Preston.  She loves this critter SO much!!!

It's almost unimaginable that this beauty is 19!!!  She is truly a gift from the Lord, my shopping sidekick, clothing advisor, and still a book-loving girl. I've LOVED having her home this summer, although she did have to work quite a bit.

And we couldn't forget to celebrate Dave and all he does for our family on Father's Day.  He continues to grin through the chaos as he puts up with all of our craziness!

It Must Be Summer ~ Doing What They Love

This is summer . . . Savannah enjoying reading a book on "work" at home Wednesday, and Preston enjoying a summer track meet.

Goat Yoga ~ Savannah's Birthday Wish

One of Savannah's bucket list items for the summer was goat yoga. I was nominated to attend with her as the boys had absolutely zero interest; shocking, I know!  She called it her birthday wish, so on this hot and sticky Saturday morning, we headed to Rock Hill on this random plot of land to do yoga with some goats.  Thankfully, it was under a big tree, and there was a nice breeze, so we didn't sweat too bad.

We were there all of three minutes, and one goat came right over to pee and poop all over Savannah's yoga mat. LOL.  She didn't panic, and the instructors came right over to clean it all up, but it was still a bit gross.  The morning was filled with laughter and a strange sense of "what's going to happen next?"  Truly, the goats would try to eat your clothes, shoes, hair, etc., and would then just jump right on your back.  It was so wild!  Here are a few pictures from our adventure.

Monopoly Live

When we saw Monopoly Live advertised recently in Charlotte, our game-loving family couldn't wait to attend!!  It was not at all what I envisioned, but a super fun night out together. We were paired with this rando couple to make a complete team of 6, but they were pretty cool and made the night fun.

This may have been the funniest part with Preston grabbing as much money as he could for the team!

We didn't win, but it was a blast nonetheless. And this guy, one of the characters, was SO fun, and quite helpful too!

Preston Wraps Up His Freshman Year at PHS

This kiddo headed out for his last day of his freshman year today.  He has adjusted so well and rocked the high school thing.  Not once did we have to wake him up (and they leave at 6:30am).  He has a 4.3 GPA,  has made lots of friends, and actually enjoyed a few of his classes. ;)

I picked him up after he finished his German presentation, and he headed to a friend's house for a pool party.  Unfortunately,  unlucky Preston strikes again, and he got bitten by the friend's dog. UGH!

The bite was minor, and the friend's dad is a PA, so we had some antibiotics called in and hope it heals without any issue.  Here's to summer.  Praying this is our only injury!!!!
